QCC 910 XRF Level 2

Course Description:

XRF (X-ray Fluorescence) Level 2 is designed to enhance the technician to the X-ray Fluorescence (XRF) diagnostic NDT (Non Destructive Testing) method. Knowledge of XRF inspection is considered fundamental for the detection and determining the concentration or elements within substances. The course covers an introduction to basic principles and applications of XRF through a lecture and lab. The course will cover both the theoretical and practical components necessary to meet the requirements of NRCan NDTC XRF Operator Program based on Health Canada Safety Code 32 and ISO 20807.

Prerequisites:

Supporting documentation of the following must be submitted with your registration form in order to be registered for this course:

  • Proof of age (e.g., copy of photo ID, drivers license, or a passport)

**Please note that Registrants must meet all perquisites before the registration will be completed.

Supplies:

Students are required to have the following with them to participate in the class:

  • Basic scientific calculator, pens, pencils, and a ruler.
Course Materials:

All student learning materials will be provided prior to the first day of class through email.

Classroom Hours:

Unless otherwise notified, classes are 8am-12:00 pm.

Certificate:

Certificates will be issued to each student that successfully completes the course and final exam. Attendance will be recorded daily and in order to successfully pass the course.
