QCC 600 - CEDO Training Course (Certified Exposure Device Operator)

Course Description:

The CEDO training course is designed to meet the requirements of the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission Document PCP-09 and prepare the technicians for the written examination component. This course is the first training that must be completed for a student to gain employment in Industrial Radiography. The CEDO training course will cover the following industrial radiography topics: fundamentals of radiation and radioactivity, units of radiation detection and measurement, CNSC regulatory requirements, security measures, operational procedures, and radiation protection.

Prerequisites:

Supporting documentation of the following must be submitted with your registration form in order to be registered for the CEDO course:

  • Proof of age (e.g., copy of photo ID, drivers license, or a passport)
  • Successful completion of an NDT Math course or an exam from an NRCan RTO

**Please note that Registrants must meet all perquisites before the registration will be completed.

Supplies:

Students are required to bring the following with them to class:

  • Scientific calculator, pens, pencils, and a ruler.
Course Materials:

All student manuals, text books, and handouts will be provided on the first day of the course.

Classroom Hours:

Unless otherwise notified, classes are 8:00-16:30 Monday-Friday.

Certificate:

CEDO training certificates will be issued to each student that successfully completes the course. Attendance will be recorded daily and in order to successfully pass the course, students must receive a grade of ≥75%.

Equipment for CEDO training includes a Sentinel 880 Delta training camera with all connections. Students will be using all the required safety equipment used in the field.
